The eyes are the window to the soul- a source from which the human wisdom and happiness stream. One can find in the eyes its own anatomic and physiological characteristics reflected in the signs- such as spots, lines, color and others. We can see the human life through the color, sclera, eyelids and the pigmentation.

We can find information about the status of the human organs on the invisible line of the (sympathicus) nervous system. Metaphorically speaking the iris is  a miniature of the psycho-physiological and anatomic integrity of the organism.

The identification of the diseases on the basis of the changing color of the eyes, the signs and marks, lines and spots has a long history. The word iris originates from the Greek word iris, iridos. The interest in the iris diagnosis dates back from an image of the iris found in the caves in Mala-Asia. More than 3000 years B.C. in India and China the changes in the iris have been taken into account. There is a description of the iris made by Hippocrates.

The doctors in Egypt during the reign of Tutankhamun have practiced iris diagnosis. The eminent priest of the pharaoh El Aksu describes the iris diagnosis and it becomes more popular.  Thanks to him the knowledge spreads abroad in Egypt, Babylon, Tibet, Indo-China and other regions. The description of the iris diagnosis made by El Aksu is found on two papyruses each 50 meters long. They have been found in a tomb in the city of Gize and today they are preserved in the Vatican Library. They describe a specific and unique method of photographing the iris with the help of special metal lamellae made of zinc and nickel and covered with silver liquid. El Aksu uses such a metal lamella: he puts at a distance of 2 cm near the eyes of the patient, hold it there for 4 minutes, and afterwards he lubricates it with liquid and he puts it again at a distance of 30 centimeters the eyes. After a chemical reaction the surface of the lamella changes its color.

Color lamellae with the image of iris are preserved in the basis of the secret color photography. In Tutankhamun’s Tomb several lamellae with the image of the pharaoh’s iris have been discovered. They are evidence that the ruler of Egypt had numerous diseases. In the ancient Tibetan medicine the external appearance-skin, tongue, eyes, the form of the ears and others-was of utmost importance.

It is considered that the eyes contain in themselves information for many disturbances of the internal organs. The loss of radiance and human warmth mean that the person has a very serious malady.

It is often stated in the literature that the shepherds from certain tribes  determine the diseases of the cattle on the basis of lines, spots, color of the eyes and this is how they decide which sheep to buy.

iris diagnosisThe founder of the iris diagnosis is Dr Ignatz von Pegcheli (1826-1907) from Budapest. From his early childhood, he has stated that when the leg of owl is broken a black line appears in its iris. This immediate change in the iris of the owl predetermines his orientation towards iris diagnosis. Consequently, he published “Manuel for the study of the iris diagnosis”. His continuors are N. Liljeguist, E. Schlegel (1887), P. Thiel, M. Madaus, K. Bcumhauer ge Schulte, Petar Dimkov(1977).

What makes the deep impression when looking in the iris are the colours. These colours correspond to the body construction and depend on the composition of the blood-blue-brown-grey. The colours of the iris are Intersected by lighter white signs or black/dark spots. These white and black areas as well as the blue, the brown and the grey colour of the iris are not accidental. There is nothing accidental in life.

In cases of serious brain damages the pupils broaden and remain in such a position; this means that the functioning of the nerves, the blood, and the muscles stops even though the eye itself is not damaged. The separation of muscle filament the elements of the iris become less strong and these less strong areas become darker and black sports start to appear.

The black spots result from:

  • The weakening and thinning of the tissue, loss of elements
  • Destruction of the organic matter
  • Pressure
  • Drying, depletion of the matter of the tissue.

The black sports are observed when there are:

  • Furuncle, abscess, decay
  • Sarcomas, carcinomas
  • destruction of the lungs tissue
  • chronic sweating, release of mucus, injuries
  • opening of glands, skin, heart
  • if the dark sports are observed in the area of the blood, it means that the red blood cells.

We have to be very careful and take into account the dark spots because they are sign of loss of elements, hardening, decay.  The signs will remain when the decay is not repaired.

  • Black spot is always a minus- insufficiency
  • White colour is a plus- surplus. The white colour appears as a result of the rubbing, heating, and infection.

The signs which are the expression of the pain are always white. The brighter the colours the stronger is the pain.  The shade of the white determines the toxic relationship-it depends whether it is white or yellowish:

  • White colour(lines) - in the shape of a ring
  • Mucus, colour of the white of the egg - detachment of mucus
  • Bright colour such as snow - infection, pain in the nerves
  • Greyish-white clouds - rheumatic figure
  • White-yellowish - accumulation of
  • Opaque white - is the colour of the healing.
